New Edition of Facts & Figures Released Today!
March 1, 2016
It’s always an exciting day when we release Facts & Figures. This compendium on federal, state, and local tax revenues, collections, rates, and brackets is the premier source for basic tax information for taxpayers, legislators, and journalists.
Mailed to every state legislator and governor, this booklet is the most up to date information on how the states compare on all major tax types. In 39 tables, we rank each state’s individual, corporate, sales, and property tax rates and collections, as well as provide our popular overall tax measures like the State Business Tax Climate Index and the State-Local Tax Burden Ranking. When we testify in states, we often see legislators in Ways & Means or Finance committees referring to this handy booklet.
Published since 1941, this booklet is our longest standing publication. Milton Friedman once called Facts & Figures “the most detailed and useful statistical portrait of where the spending goes and how it is financed.” We think you’ll agree.
