4 min readHow does Nevada’s tax code compare? Nevada does not have an individual income tax. Nevada does not have a corporate income tax but does levy a state gross receipts tax. Nevada has a 6.85 percent state sales tax rate and an average combined state and local sales tax rate of 8.24 percent. Nevada has a 0.44 percent effective property tax rate on owner-occupied housing value.
Nevada does not have an estate tax or inheritance tax. Nevada has a 23.81 cents per gallon gas tax rate and a $1.80 cigarette excise tax rate. The State of Nevada collects $5,080 in state and local tax collections per capita. Nevada has $8,925 in state and local debt per capita and has an 82 percent funded ratio of public pension plans.
