Supreme Court Declines to Hear Mikulski Case
May 12, 2008
The U.S. Supreme Court this morning declined to hear the case of Centerior Energy Corp. v. Mikulski, in which we had filed an amicus brief in support of the petition. The issue in the case was protecting taxpayers from fragmented state-by-state interpretations of the federal tax code, as well as ensuring that taxes paid to the government can be recovered only from the IRS and not from businesses. See more here.
We had stellar assistance on our petition, and it’s unfortunate that the Court will not be considering the issue at this time. Thanks to all who helped in any way with this brief!
