High Sales Taxes
The portion of the city of Arab (pop. 7,500) in Cullman County, Alabama, has the highest sales tax in the country at 12%, according to Forbes. As we note on our sales tax map (embedded below), the highest big city rate is Chicago’s 10.25%, although that will go to 9.75% in July.
