Perdue explains that current proposed spending exceeds expected revenues by $2.4 billion, and invites visitors to design a proposal from a menu of options in education, social services, public safety, general government, economic development, and taxA tax is a mandatory payment or charge collected by local, state, and national governments from individuals or businesses to cover the costs of general government services, goods, and activities.

Unlike other budget balance challenge websites that are designed to push tax increases as the only option, such as the otherwise well done Next Ten website for California, Perdue’s is quite balanced in laying out a variety of possibilities. Check it out!
