Tax Foundation Experts Testifying in California, Indiana, and Minnesota

January 31, 2011

As state officials struggle to reprioritize services and evaluate their tax systems, Tax Foundation experts are accepting invitations to appear and answer questions from legislators and their staff. Popular subjects at the moment are how a state’s tax system compares to other states, the impact of taxes on economic growth and job creation, and the opportunity for tax reform at a time of fiscal challenge.

Here are some upcoming appearances by Tax Foundation staff:

Minnesota, February 1: President Scott Hodge will be testifying to the House Taxes Committee on proposals to lower or eliminate the state corporate income tax. The hearing will be on Tuesday, February 1, at 10:15 AM in Room 200 of the State Office Building in St. Paul.

California, February 2: Director of State Projects Joseph Henchman will be one of three panelists appearing before a hearing organized by Sen. Sam Blakeslee, Chair of the Select Committee on Recovery, Reform, and Realignment. The hearing will be Wednesday, February 2, at 3:00 PM, at the State Capitol, Sacramento.

Indiana, February 8: President Scott Hodge will be testifying on corporate tax reform to the Senate Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee, Room 431 of the Indiana Statehouse, at 9:00 AM in Indianapolis.
