Migration Profiles by State, 2006-07
On this page, you can choose a state to get a detailed profile of who is coming into each state from other states and who is leaving the state for other states. Is it true that there is a brain drain from Michigan? What type of people are really leaving New Jersey? Is it just old people moving to Florida? This data collection can answer these questions and more.
This is part of an ongoing Tax Foundation project to detail migration of people across states and the role that differing fiscal policies play in that migration. While the Tax Foundation will use this data in various research projects, the data is provided on this page (and others) as a public service from the Tax Foundation.
The data is for 2006-07 and comes from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.
