Tax Foundation Job Announcement
The Tax Foundation seeks a highly motivated individual for the position of Economist as part of our dynamic modeling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with and expanding the Tax Foundation’s Taxes and Growth Model.
Graduate degree in economics
Experience with Excel Visual Basic and other programming languages
Experience with econometric modeling and statistical packages (STATA)
Sufficient understanding of public finance in general and the federal tax system in particular
Experience accessing and working with federal data sources such as IRS, BEA, Census, BLS
Ability to organize massive amounts of data inputs and outputs
Ability to manage projects, both autonomously and as part of team efforts
Entrepreneurial, analytical, and strategic mindset
Interest in learning about tax policy, capital structure and economic growth from some of the world’s experts
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program, update, revise and document the Taxes and Growth Model
Model individual and corporate tax policy proposals and reform plans
Organize massive amounts of data inputs and outputs for the model
Maintain knowledge of current federal tax policy and economic issues, and identify new research and modeling opportunities
Write studies, reports, op-eds and blog posts on modeling results
