Today is Tax Freedom Day for Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, Ohio, and Oregon

Tax Freedom Day-the date on which Americans will have worked long enough to have earned enough money to pay this year’s tax obligations at the federal, state and local levels-falls on April 8, 2010 for residents of Oregon(20), Michigan(21), Idaho(22), Ohio(23), and Georgia(24). The date for America on whole will be Friday, April 9, 2010.

Those living in Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, Ohio and Oregon worked 98 days into the year in order to earn enough money to pay their combined federal, state and local taxes, one day shorter than the national average of 99 days.
