Tax Foundation Scholar Testifies on California Film Tax Credits

Today at 2:30 PM Pacific time, Tax Foundation staff economist Mark Robyn testifies before a joint hearing of the Arts and Revenue Committees in the California State Assembly examining the costs and benefits of the state’s system of tax credits for film and television production.

Mark’s testimony questions the economic case for singling out the film industry for special tax treatment and challenge the committee members to justify the program’s cost at a time when the state is facing unprecedented fiscal challenges.
