Tax Foundation on the Road at Tax Academy in Chicago
June 26, 2015
Earlier this week, Joseph Henchman and I traveled to Chicago, Illinois to speak at the Council on State Taxation (COST) and National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Tax Academy Policy Seminar. The event was a great opportunity to meet with state legislators and tax policy professionals from around the country and take part in three days of informative and thought-provoking sessions on state tax policy.
Joe spoke on a panel titled “Federalism in the Tax Policy Arena” on the implications federal legislation has on state tax policy. I led a breakout session giving a primer on how state personal income taxes work and explained some national trends (we’ll post the content from the individual income tax primer soon).

It was a great week for all of those in attendance, and it's exciting to see and hear so many people actively seeking out better tax policy.
