How does Louisiana’s tax code compare? Louisiana has a graduated individual income tax, with rates ranging from 1.85 percent to 4.25 percent. Louisiana also has a corporate income tax that ranges from 3.50 percent to 7.50 percent. Louisiana has a 4.45 percent state sales tax rate, a max local sales tax rate of 7.00 percent, and an average combined state and local sales tax rate of 9.55 percent. Louisiana’s tax system ranks 42nd overall on our 2022 State Business Tax Climate Index.
