Nominations for Outstanding Achievement in State Tax Policy Open! November 25, 2015 Joseph Bishop-Henchman Joseph Bishop-Henchman Each year, the Tax Foundation honors state legislators, executives, and other individuals with its Outstanding Achievement in State Tax Reform award. As the name suggests, the honoree's accomplishments must be (1) outstanding, (2) an achievement (not merely a proposal) during 2015, and (3) reform taxes to make them more simple, more neutral, more transparent, more stable, and more pro-growth. Working for better tax policy is not easy, and although a small glass award hardly compares to the efforts the recipients put into what they helped achieve, we believe that it’s important to do something to recognize their impressive achievements for the taxpayers of their states. Past recipients in 2014 and 2013 include four governors, legislators from five states, the President of the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council, and a taxpayer activist in Ohio. We thank you for your nominations, which will be accepted until 5:00 PM Eastern Time, December 2, 2015. Submit your nominations by clicking here! Stay informed on the tax policies impacting you.
