New Podcast: Tax Freedom Day 2010

March 31, 2010

Yesterday the Tax Foundation released Tax Freedom Day® 2010, which will fall on April 9 this year. That means Americans will work well over three months of the year — from January 1 to April 9 — before they have earned enough money to pay the nation's tax bill for the year. In this week's podcast, Tax Foundation Economist Kail Padgitt, Ph.D., discusses Tax Freedom Day over the years, how the federal budget deficit would affect its date, the major components of the nation's tax burden and Tax Freedom Day by state.
