Congratulations to the Winners of our Local Income Tax Contest
September 1, 2011
The results are in from our contest to guess the number of local income tax jurisdictions in the U.S., which recently ended with the publication of our new report, “Local Income Taxes: City- and County-Level Income and Wage Taxes Continue to Wane,” by Joseph Henchman and Jason Sapia. The correct number is 4,943 jurisdictions.
Our winner is Frank Spahn, whose guess of 4,997 was only 54 off the correct value. In second place is Sean O’Brien, with a guess of 5,000 (57 off) and third is Paul Cwik, with a guess of 5,135 (192 off). Thanks to everyone who participated!
