About the Role
The role of the Operations Associate is vital to the organization. The primary responsibility of this position will be to manage the day-to-day administration of the Tax Foundation headquarters office, serving as a resource for staff and as a host for guests. This non-exempt classified position reports to the Chief Advancement and Operations Officer.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary point of contact on building-related items: guest registrations, service requests, room reservations, and other items.
- Manage in-office common space reservations
- In consultation with staff committee, plan in-office events and recognitions
- Maintain the stock of office supplies and hospitality supplies
- Monitor the Operations general email and respond or route items appropriately
- Manage various office vendor relationships
- Manage the Less Annoying CRM environment
- Receive, open, and route incoming mail
- Assist with various internal and external event planning and production
- Liaise with remote employees who may need things from the office
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or operations (internships may be considered experience).
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and good judgment.
- Solution-oriented with the ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Able to work independently on projects, from conception to completion; to handle confidential matters with discretion; and represent Tax Foundation in a highly professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Location and Hours
This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The position is based in Tax Foundation’s Washington, DC, office, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Occasional extended hours may be required. This position may have occasional travel associated with its duties, including for Tax Foundation’s annual all-staff offsite meeting.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
