Job Description

The Operations team is responsible for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes so our colleagues can focus on their valued contributions to move our mission forward. As part of the operations team, you will participate in providing shared services support to all our programs, including financial, HR, technology, and legal.

The role of the Accounting Associate is vital to the Operations team as well as the entire organization. The primary responsibility of this position will be to manage the day-to-day administration of the organization’s accounts payables and accounts receivables. This role is the main support for all facets of the organization’s financial reporting and accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the processing of cash receipts and recording of revenues and receivables by working closely with the development team to ensure that revenues and receivables are reconciled accurately within the organization database and/or accounting systems
  • Process all accounts payable invoices in alignment with contracts or other applicable supporting documentation, including employee expense reimbursements
  • Assist with the onboarding, setting up, and establishing relationships with new and existing vendors and contractors
  • Prepare 1099 and vendor tax documents
  • Manage reconciliation of the corporate credit card account monthly
  • Perform general account analysis and be able to identify opportunities for efficiency
  • Assist with annual budget, audit, and 990
  • Mange monthly timesheet/time allocation process
  • Execute all processes related to procurement in accordance with organization policies
  • Provide support with various operations administration; onboarding and supporting staff across all programs; be a helpful and responsive resource to our teammates
  • Maintain a high level of flexibility to perform duties cross functionally in support of the organization’s mission

Qualifications

  • Degree in accounting or finance-related field or 5+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting and/or operations

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and good judgment

  • Must be solution-oriented with the ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Bill.com, and Sage Intacct
