Natasha Altamirano is Manager of Media Relations for the Tax Foundation, where she publicizes the organization's research through traditional and social media outreach. Prior to joining the Tax Foundation, Natasha served as Communications Manager for the National Taxpayers Union, a nonpartisan taxpayer advocacy organization, and its research affiliate, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation. In that role, she assisted the organizations' public-outreach operation through building media relations, serving as managing editor of NTU's and NTUF's newsletters, and overseeing the development of numerous external-affairs projects.

As a former journalist, Natasha brings strong writing, editing, and communications skills to the Tax Foundation. She previously worked as a reporter at The Washington Times, where she wrote about local immigration news, and The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg, Va., where she covered religion issues. She has reported on local, state, and national elections—including Virginia's gubernatorial race in 2005 and U.S. Senate race in 2006.

She graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, where she served as News Editor for its student newspaper, The Cavalier Daily.
