Matt Moon is the Manager of Media Relations for the Tax Foundation. He brings communications expertise from political campaigns, policy research, and private sector public relations. Matt works to promote Tax Foundation scholars and research publications to traditional and new media outlets, tracks economic news items from the local to national levels, and develops strategic communications plans for the Foundation's long-term projects. He is also a front-page contributor for The Next Right, a conservative community-driven grassroots action website.

Previously, Matt was a senior communications specialist for a ballot initiative campaign in Alaska, in addition to being a political communications consultant for several local candidates and a campaign planning instructor for the Alaska Republican Party. Prior to that, he managed external relations for a start-up Web 2.0 software development firm in Salt Lake City, and was the lead public outreach coordinator for Arctic Slope Regional Corporation in Anchorage.

A lifelong Alaskan, Matt earned a B.A. in environmental science and public policy as well as an M.A. in history of science from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During his time at Harvard, he also worked with former Alaska Governor Walter J. Hickel as a policy research associate for Hickel's Institute of the North. Matt currently resides in Washington, DC.
