Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Republicans vow to change their proposal to top governor's"
"This fall, Republicans plan to begin the three-year process of changing the Wisconsin Constitution to add permanent controls on state and local spending, a change that Doyle opposes. Property taxes on the median-valued home rose 4.5% last year, the bureau noted. The non-profit Tax Foundation in Washington has said that Wisconsin property taxes per capita were 10th highest in the nation in 2000, the most recent year for which the group had figures."
