Tax Freedom Day Makes Us Feel Like Singing
Tax Freedom Day® is today, the 102nd day of 2011. This means that the nation as a whole has worked over three months before earning enough money to pay this year's federal, state and local tax bills. Americans will pay more in taxes in 2011 than they will spend on groceries, clothing and shelter combined.
A few years ago, in addition to the Tax Freedom Day report we publish every year, we thought it would be fun to illustrate the concept in a whole new way. So if you're done reading the report and you want to experience the musical version of Tax Freedom Day, take a look at our video.
