As Joe highlighted previously, he recently authored a special report looking at efforts by local governments in many states to collect discriminatory taxes from online travel companies such as Orbitz, Expedia and Priceline. I interviewed Joe for this week's Tax Policy Podcast about the report, "Cities Pursue Discriminatory Taxation of Online Travel Services." Joe explains how ultimately, these efforts to shift the tax burden to "outsiders" harms interstate commerce.
