Help Us Continue to Make a Difference in 2012

Earlier this month, State Tax Notes named us 2011's Organization of the Year, saying that we are "relied on by major news organizations, public finance scholars, and legislative staff more than any other organization" and that "even the most ardently liberal legislators acknowledged, often grudgingly, that the foundation was generally right in its approach to tax policy."

Our influence at the state level extends to the federal tax debates as well, and that influence will be more important than ever in next year's presidential election. The complexity of candidates' tax plans can make them difficult to evaluate, and during election season, voters turn to us for credible, easy-to-understand information and analysis. In the months leading up to the 2008 election, our website received unprecedented traffic: half a million visitors in October alone. We provided a detailed grid of the candidates' plans, fact-checking of debates within hours of air time, and principled analysis of the plans, as well as numerous election-related blog posts.

We have already started 2012's election analysis, and we need your help to continue educating voters in the coming months. Please consider making a tax-deducible donation to support our election coverage-and all of our research programs-in 2012 and beyond.
